I was thinking about making the title something like "I'm your Venus" or "Venus Envy", but I decided to keep it simple.
Well, that and the fact that I'm still trying to find the last few circles to stop said demoness. But I suppose I should take a step back and give a brief description of what the funny quest was after I beat Jupiter.
Our sassy elf item store clerk lost something and accused our used-to-be-a-thief bath operator of stealing it. It turns out that Lulu fed certain mushrooms to the catgirl maid, and the catgirl was out of her mind when she did it. So, yes, the culprit was a magic mushroom.
Venus's level is set up as a prison. So this means that I needed to look around to acquire a key before I could open some of the doors, and there were also levers that needed to be pulled to open some gates. There were three gates that had lever puzzles attached to them, but those were perfectly easy if you have the vocabulary of a good 8th or 9th grade student or access to a dictionary or thesaurus.
As with Jupiter's realm, the level is fairly big. However, I did manage to get my Gazer high level enough to use the skill "Gazer's Reputation" that reduces the random encounter rate. I haven't made a lot of use of it yet, because I needed those encounters to level and be able to deal with the encounters. Of course, I'm now in the level 24 range on everyone, so I can make use of the spell without any regrets.
Halfway through the level, I got drafted to look for Fran. She went to an area guarded by fairies who don't let "inferior" races like humans, elves, dwarves, migmies, etc. into it. Azamgil is a weird Demon Gazer, so he managed to get through. Of course, just because they don't let people through, that doesn't mean the fairies didn't let monsters through. The racially intolerant fairies are certainly unusual in fantasy games. Evil, albino short-person Lulu was in the area (meaning there's something unusual about her), and eventually Fran was found in a hole. She retreated there after being attacked by monsters. After a fight and then some comedy that had Azamgil fall into the hole with Fran, the rest of the party eventually rescued them. So, that whole "no inferior races" thing seems to be only enforced some of the time.
I should finish off Venus's level soon. Then it's probably Astro's level, who is one floor below Venus.
